Leander’s Masters program includes recreational, competitive and club elite athletes who are 21 years and older, with our current eldest competitive athlete at 86 years of age. Master’s rowers of all fitness levels and abilities are invited to come out to enjoy the sport of rowing in a manner that is compatible with their lifestyle and training goals.
Athletes are provided with a training program, technical coaching sessions on and off the water, as well as numerous racing opportunities through-out the season (June-end of October). Recreational and competitive crews are comprised of both sweep and sculling boats. Competitions during the summer are 1000m in length and include 5km races in the fall. Athletes may race in mixed crew events in which half of the crew, excluding the coxswain, are women and half are men. (The coxswain may be of either gender.)
Erg technical sessions are currently held Tuesday 6pm-7:30pm and Sunday 8am-9:30am with on-water session times to be announced. If you are interested in rowing with Leander Boat Club please contact the club’s head coach at email@example.com for more information.
